The original X-Sums rule, that forms the basis of this genre, can be traced back to the [SUDOKU 8X8 LMI contest|https://logicmastersindia.com/lmitests/?test=M201205S], by @@ Zuzana Hromcová & Matúš Demiger @@. This was followed shortly by two addtitional puzzles: [one|https://puzzleparasite.blogspot.com/2012/05/puzzle-103-x-sums-sudoku.html] by @BramDeLaat and [another|https://logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=0001F7] by @RichardStolk.

In 2020, @JonasGleim made a page.title puzzle for the [Puzzle Alphabet competition|https://logic-masters.de/Wettbewerbe/CE/wettbewerb.php?id=147], which is likely the first standalone page.title puzzle.

In 2022, @dohz formed the first full page.title puzzle set. Inspired by this [#classic] set, site.author added arrows plus some extra [#cursed] puzzles, while creating this interactive app (2023), using the [Kudamono Editor].

Each puzzle has a single, unique solution.

## Cursed

### by site.author
This series uses empty arrows inside the board, thereby giving no number clue away. It can be considered a small //cursed// expansion to the original, //classic// ruleset, which did not bar this possibility.

## Variants

### ´´zero´´
V=zero

The ´´zero´´ variant was first used in a standalone [X-sums] puzzle by @JeffreyBardon.

Here's a set of puzzles by @dohz using this variant:

And a puzzle by @PinkHoodie:
