This genre inspired [Gemini Loop].
It is also closely related to [Nikoji], the key difference being that in [Gemini Block] only equal shapes (in the same orientation) can not have equal letters, whereas in [Nikoji] even if such shapes are mirrored or rotated, they cannot share a letter.
However, there are two genre-specific variants that alter this behaviour:
- ´´lenience´´: same-shaped blocks may contain different letters
- ´´equivalence´´: same-shaped blocks may contain different letters, but not in the same position
In both cases, note that equal letters still need to fall into equal-shaped blocks and in equal positions within those blocks. Each block always contains a single letter.
